Random Pictures

I am going to apologize in advance, because this is a very random blog post. But the pictures are mostly of cute Claire, so that makes it all okay.

Claire's first trip to In-N-Out. She obviously loved it!

Along with In-N-Out, Claire loves being read to.

A long time ago, my car hit a very important milestone: 77777 miles driven. And for those of you who want to comment on the speed of my car and taking pictures while driving... Richie was driving in an area where the speed limit was 75 mph, and I took the picture while he kept his eyes safely on the road.

Recently, my car hit ANOTHER important milestone: 88888 miles driven!

Claire wore her Christmas dress last week so that our Logan ward could see it before we headed South for the holidays. She got plenty of compliments. Let's face it, she's extremely adorable.

We had our friends, Kyle and Natalie, over for dinner last night. We wanted to do a Christmas-y get together before we left, so we made soup and they brought sugar cookie dough. Little did they know that Richie was dressed up like a professional chef moments before they walked in the door.

Natalie makes the best sugar cookies, so I told her they couldn't come unless they brought the dough. We made little gingerbread man-shaped families, but Richie snapped the head off of the father before I could snap a picture.

Hooray for finally being caught up on the blog!

Richie graduated with his Bachelor's in Computer Science this past week! I am so proud of him! He did such a great job at balancing work, school, and a brand new baby. If you remember, I made him walk with me in May in the College of Science so we could have pictures of us together. I have a blog post on that HERE.

After Richie finished finals, we went out to dinner, stopped by the movie theater to get "real" popcorn, and then came home to watch a movie. I snapped this picture of me before dinner...

...and then this picture after dinner. Claire's headband and tutu obviously didn't last all the way through dinner time. :)

Good job at graduating Richie!  He starts in his Master's program (again, Computer Science) this January. I know he'll do great!

Ice Show

It's always fun when Richie's little sister, Paige, has an ice show!

Claire slept through the first part of the show.

Paige did such a great job on her solo.

She also had a number with her synchro group,

Claire loved watching all the ice skaters after she woke up.

 Grandma Preece and Claire.

We can't wait for the Spring show!

Rolling Over!

Claire rolled over for the first time a few weeks ago. It has taken me a while to blog about it! She was exactly 11 weeks old. She started on her back and rolled on her stomach. She has done it three times since then.

Claire HATES when she is on her stomach, so she immediately screamed when she ended up on her tummy.

I'm so proud of her!

Thanksgiving break was a blast this year! I didn't get pictures of dinner, but I stole these off my mom's blog.

Here's Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam with Claire and Lily.

The dining room looked beautiful!

That weekend, we went to go see the light with the Preece clan.

It was a fun weekend!

Plotting and Scheming

Yesterday, I thought to myself, "I haven't seen Becky in a long time. I wonder what it would take to get her to come up to Logan to visit us." And then I remembered that I have a ridiculously adorable child. I posted the picture below onto Facebook.

And she couldn't resist how cute Claire was... She just had to come up and visit.

My plan worked perfectly. :)
It was so fun to see Becky today! We love when people come up to Logan to visit us!

Slow Motion Running

I still remember the first day that I started track at USU. I was so nervous. I was worried that I would be less athletic than everyone else, wouldn't like my coach, wouldn't bond with my teammates, etc... After we learned each other's names, we started our warm-up. I was exhausted afterward--and we hadn't even started the real workout yet! After practice finished, I was beat. I thought to myself, "I have never felt so out of shape in my life. What have I gotten myself into?!"

Well, a similar thing happened to me this week when I went on my first run since having Claire. I started off with my jogging stroller at a slow-motion pace and made it around the corner before I was gasping for air. I was so embarrassed and just praying the whole time that no one from our neighborhood would recognize me.

Why am I writing this very random blog post, you ask?

1. So I can publicly thank my mom for buying me a super nice jogging stroller. Thanks Mommy. You're the best!
2. So one day when I'm running marathons at a 4 minute mile pace, I can look back and see how far I've come.
3. I'm hoping that if I tell the few of you that read my blog that I've started running, I'll feel more accountable to sticking with a constant workout routine.
4. Some people complain that once people have children, that's all they ever blog about. So here is me NOT blogging about my ridiculously cute baby.

Anyways.. After a month or two, I finally got in shape and got to compete with some pretty awesome people at USU. I loved my coaches and teammates and I was in the best shape of my life. So it was a happy ending. Here's to hoping that my pitiful runs with the jogging stroller turn out to be a happy ending as well!

Blessing Day!

We chose to bless Claire at my parent's house last Saturday. It was such a special day! Claire was a very good baby and slept through the whole thing.

My mom kept my blessing dress from 21 years ago so I could pass it on to my children. It's such a beautiful dress and Claire looked so precious in it.

I wasn't very good at taking pictures that night, but here's a picture of the six chicks-plus one!

It was a wonderful night with friends and family!

Newborn Photos

Claire had newborn photos done when she was just 5 days old. They all turned out SO adorable.

Here are some of my favorites.

These were done by Simply Be Photography. She did a great job and I'd recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer!

Costume Options

I've been trying to decide if we should do costumes for our little family for Halloween. Here are some of the candidates.

I think this is actually a Christmas card, and not a Halloween costume. Regardless, Richie really wants to dress up like this.

Piggies, sled included.

Winnie the Pooh and friends. Of course if we dressed like this, we'd have to go to a photo studio and get a picture just like this.

Different variations of potatoes

I found all these photos on Awkward Family Photos, just in case you haven't seen your fill of awkwardness for the day and want to see more.

All Smiles!

One of my FAVORITE things is when Claire smiles. You'd be surprised at how hard it is to capture a smile on camera.

Here are a few photos I managed to get.

Isn't she so adorable?!
